Cambodian Cassette

I heard a track off this release years ago on KUSF. Cambodian 60's music that was discovered in some library in California and compiled by Mark Gergis. 150 tapes were found in all. Most of the music is from the 60's before Pol Pot and a few tracks after 1975. Very poprock and very cool. The guitar tones are so great.
Here is a sample track.

The Beginning of the End for Cd's?

Interesting story on Foxnews.com today about ... albums being sold on memory cards instead of cd's with no copyright protections!!!

"SanDisk Corp., four major record labels and retailers Best Buy Co. and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. are hoping that albums sold on microSD memory cards will at least provide an additional stream of sales. The companies unveiled plans Monday to sell memory cards loaded with music in the MP3 format, free of copy protections."
They are calling it SlotMusic.

Killdozer

"So it was confirmed by Michael Gerald this week that Killdozer is playing more than just their Madison, Wisconsin show on September 20th. They have added five confirmed and two tentative shows in the US. All the details that are known at this time is on the show listings of this myspace page.

I have no details regarding show time, door price, whether they are all ages or bar shows or anything else besides dates and venues at this point. I am also entirely clueless if these are going to be the final Killdozer shows of what the status of the band is. I just post the information once Michael Gerald emails it to me.

In other news Michael Gerald has confirmed that former Killdozer guitarist, Paul Zagoras (1993-1996) will join the Hobson/Gerald/Hobson line-up for a few of their songs at their show in Madison on September 20th as part of the Forward Music Festival." Taken from myspace blog.
