Touch & Go Rumor Alert
UPDATE ....
1. Chicago Tribune
2.CMJ

Is Touch and Go records moving to a catalog only format? Reports have been moving around the web as to this fact. Anyone else hear about this? Touch and Go has for years put out some amazing music. Lately noteworthy acts are MiAmi and Crystal Antlers.

I Like
Today I want to share a few sites that i have been checking daily. Most of you probably already are familiar with them but for those who aren't, ENJOY.
1. Experimental ETC - Everything from Muslimgauze to Brainiac, Naked City to Sightings.
2. The Dust Bowl - Great site "For all things loud." Most recent post with Cop Shoot Cop. Most recent turn me on to a new band, "The Rabbits."
3. Beyond Failure - This site hits home for me. Based out of Atlanta and headed up by the drummer from one of my most favorite Atlanta bands ever, The Hal Al Shedad. He posts great stories and band info for lots of 90's Atlanta hotties. Including Bob, Fiddlehead, Car vs Driver and more. Updated quite a bit with downloads and video links.
4. COD Music - Lydia Lunch, Boredoms, The Swans all have been covered here. Good site that I need to check daily!
5. Sucka Pants - Tod Seelie has an awesome eye for photography! His photos from live shows and traveling round are incredible. Check em out NOW. Lots of Matt & Kim, CSS and Team Robespierre.

Killdozer
"So it was confirmed by Michael Gerald this week that Killdozer is playing more than just their Madison, Wisconsin show on September 20th. They have added five confirmed and two tentative shows in the US. All the details that are known at this time is on the show listings of this myspace page.
I have no details regarding show time, door price, whether they are all ages or bar shows or anything else besides dates and venues at this point. I am also entirely clueless if these are going to be the final Killdozer shows of what the status of the band is. I just post the information once Michael Gerald emails it to me.
In other news Michael Gerald has confirmed that former Killdozer guitarist, Paul Zagoras (1993-1996) will join the Hobson/Gerald/Hobson line-up for a few of their songs at their show in Madison on September 20th as part of the Forward Music Festival." Taken from myspace blog.

No Age back in the South
No Age is back again to support their "Nouns" album which released earlier this year. This time round I only see dates for Athens at the 40 Watt on Nov 14 2008. No Atlanta show listed. They were here back in July with Abe Vigoda at Eyedrum which is a great place to see a band.

Snowman My New Favorite Band
So I have been turned on to a GREAT band out of Perth Australia called Snowman. They are a 4 piece lineup with 4 releases to their name. From what I understand they have quite a buzz going round Australia and with a recent review of their new album "The Horse, the Rat and the Swan" in Pitchfork Magazine I believe they are well on their way to opening up the eyes of many.
The new album is an awesome listen from start to finish. The elements of angry intense vocals, fragmented at times helps mesh the driving percussion with all other layers. I feel each track stands alone yet is needed to complete the whole listening experience from beginning to end. For me, Snowman brings elements of Nick Cave and other dark geniuses together into one place. From what I have listened to I definitely like their newest effort the best. Very different from older releases and much angrier.
here is a video off the new album
